Brief Greetings from London
I am happy to report that my laptop now has a brand-new hard drive and is working well - a big thanks to David for that! I'll try to finally post some photos tomorrow or the next day.
Briefly, though, we had a really great time in Oxford. We had beautiful sunny weather both days, stayed in a former prison in the Oxford Castle, and visited some old favorite places. I especially had a wonderful morning out taking pictures today - the light was magnificent, and I met a retired professor at Christ Church College who let me in a special garden behind the cathedral - it was heaven!
This afternoon we said a sad goodbye to our beautiful BMW at Heathrow Airport and took a cab to our hotel in London. It's a nice hotel located very close to the British Museum in the Bloomsbury area and we're happy here. We took a long walk down to the river in the sunshine, had good pizzas for dinner, and are now watching a show about the Vikings and about to collapse. Tomorrow is supposed to be cloudy and I intend to just visit a museum or two and get caught up on work. We'll see!
